Dress: City Chic

The old saying is, “Blondes have more fun”. While I’ve never been a Blonde to test it, I can tell you that red heads have a lot of fun as well, and they look damn fine doing it.

I first decided to become a red head when I was around 16, when I found my medium brown hair dull and generic, but my hesitant parents were not keen on the idea. I was shopping my local pharmacy and found myself staring at the box dyes with longing only a teenager with parents who set boundaries knows all too well.

I ended up finding a compromise with my parents. I could colour my hair red, with a semi-permanent kit I found by L’Oreal, and it was the first time I coloured my hair and certainly, not the last. That particular range is since long gone and I’ve moved to better and far more permanent dyes since then. Through the years I have gone through many shades of red and have tried any box kit companies had to offer, and I’ve gained knowledge not many hair dressers would otherwise be willing to share.

Cosmetics Online Shopping Resource

Did you know that Australian women and consumers are forced to pay up to 60% more than a consumer in the UK for cosmetics? Even on sale, many of our favorite drugstore brands are much more expensive than they would ever be in the US and the UK. For example, a Revlon foundation that costs no more than $8 in Walmart, will cost us up to $38, and $24 on sale.

There is absolutely no reason that we should pay this price, and companies like Illamasqua are leading a petition to change that reality and have also lowered their prices in Australia to match those in their UK stores. If you are interested, you can sign said petition here. This kind of positive pressure has lead renowened cosmetics company Lancome to lower their retail price of their best selling foundations to $50 in Australia, from $68.

Until this is the case with every brand, I made a quick post to help Australian women find cheaper cosmetics online, from stores that I have personally bought from and have been tested and verified by yours truly as authentic and reliable. I haven't included websites such as Priceline and Adore Beauty, since their pricing still reflects the pricing in Australia.
